FoVI3D has been selected for a Phase I Small Business Innovative Research award by the U.S. Army to develop and demonstrate a foveated head-worn display utilizing eye tracking to reduce the display’s power, heat, and bandwidth requirements. Building upon FoVI3D’s in-depth multi-view rendering research for extreme multi-view light-field displays, an optimized foveated render pipeline will be utilized in conjunction with eye tracking to significantly reduce the size, weight, power, and cost of the computational requirements for head mounted displays. This is FoVI3D’s 3rd SBIR Phase I with the U.S. Army.
